FCS is looking for an experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) S cientist (CG03) . This position will work closely with project management and subject experts to ensure projects meet specified requirements, timelines, and budgets, as well as identify the concept, techniques, and style of report maps needed.
This role involves performing technical GIS input, including digitizing, editing, and analyses, to produce a variety of exhibits and maps for environmental reports and other related products.
The position requires acute attention to detail, timeliness, a strong work ethic, and a highly adaptable and resilient disposition to excel within an extremely fluid and dynamic work environment using predetermined guidelines to ensure consistency of styles, quality control, cost control, and production efficiency.
Salary Range : $ 25 : 00 - $29.50

Essential job functions include :
- Establish and maintain a high level of communication with staff, clients and sub-consultants
- The ability to carry through to completion assigned tasks and projects; demonstrating commitment to assignments

- Demonstrate proficiency in computer and office equipment usage
Education, Certifications, Training , Licenses and Experience
- Professional experience in GIS or a combination of experience and advanced education or technical training in GIS or comparable experience
- Ability to generate and provide calculations on GIS data
- Ability to use query language to manipulate and analyze data
- Understanding of cartographic design principles
- Knowledge of various coordinate systems, datums, and map projections
- Proficient using Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Microsoft Excel to analyze and produce data and exhibits outside of the GIS user interface a plus
- Familiar with publicly available GIS resources (City and County Data, Census Data, National Atlas, CaSIL , etc.)
- Knowledge of Field Maps for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online a plus
Software Qualifications
- ArcMap 10
- Basic AutoCAD knowledge and / or the ability to decipher civil engineer plans (a plus)
- Google Earth Pro
- Corel Draw (a plus)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Visual Modeling (a plus)
- Adobe Creative Suite (a plus)
Working Conditions :
The position operates in an office or remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment .
