Purpose of the Job
To perform the activities assigned by the department leader, in accordance with the engineering process for the design, from system requirements to system integration and validation, for ICC projects taking into account the standard platform approach being rolled out by ALSTOM projects.
To provide technical collaboration at project level, for integration and testing activities as follows :
- Helping ICC Department, proposing new solutions aligned with the customer requirements.
- To understand system requirements, carry out gap analysis with ALSTOM standard platform.
- To realize the software development activities required for system / subsystems, to match system requirements, taking into account Quality / Cost / Delivery (QCD) objectives of the project
- Co-ordinate with other engineering members / disciplines of the project

The job holder will report directly to the PrEM and System Engineer.
Network & Links
The job holder will liase and work with the technical experts of ALSTOM and suppliers.
Objectives
Design, Develop, Validate and Test software modules in the field of information technology around railway signalling. Participating in projects for system communications, local or remote supervisory systems, tool development or interlocking development or V&V for signalling projects, with adequate quality, schedule and right cost.
It will include not only the generation of documentation, but also the test on-site.
Creation of documentation related to the project, especially requirements specification, interfaces description and user manuals.
Responsibilities
Realizes and justifies his technical work in accordance with the tasks appointed by the department head at project level.
This means the integration activities for modules or subsystems and the Functional and validation tests during the commissioning phase.
By doing so, always has to have in mind if the compliance with system requirements are aligned with Alstom standard platform policy.
Ensures the quality of his job to contribute to the quality of the system being delivered.
Accountabilities
Is accountable for keeping the Solution or specific Engineering Processes.
Educational Requirements
Technician formation, engineering university degree (computer science, telecommunication or similar)
Desired Knowledge / Experience
English language is mandatory.
Desired experience in :
- C#, WPF, VBS and PowerShell.
- Standard and industrial protocols (OPC-UA, OPC-DA, MODBUS, SNMP, etc)
- SQL and Database management.
- SCADA products.
- Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, etc) and its application in the Cloud or in platform as Azure.
- Operating systems multiplatform (Windows Server, Linux)
- Medium Networks Knowledge.
- Medium Cybersecurity Knowledge.
- PLCs and RTUs knowledge.

Sometimes travel will be required, especially during the starting phase of the projects and in the commissioning phase.
