The team
The Center of Excellence at Hitachi Vantara is a worldwide entity that serves as a platform for presenting our products and solutions to customers and partners.
These engagements involve demonstrations, proof of concepts, lab facilities, and video content. Our team collaborates closely with sales, technical sales, and product management, facilitating the exchange of insights into customer trends, experiences, and requirements to enhance the alignment of our products and solutions.
The CoE is broadening our service catalog to encompass promoting and executing Discovery Services on both customer and partners environments.
The result of the Discovery Services will provide both the account team and end customer insights into the landscape highlighting data placement, utilisation, performance, capacities, end of life planning and many more.
The role
The key objective of this role is to support the technical discovery process with customers and partner. In this position you will need a knowledge and hands on experience with multi-vendor storage management tools including command line interface tools, application programming interfaces (API), and general tooling, a deep understanding of storage area network (SAN) vendors with understanding and setup of SNMP configuration for fibre channel switches and also understanding of Network Attached Storage (NAS) with regards to mounting SMB and NFS Shares, access control, and AD authentication
You should also be comfortable troubleshooting storage resource management (SRM) installation problems live with a customer via remote session and with experience with scripting, using Perl, Python, and simple bash scripting
If you have storage consulting background could be a plus.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience in the Information Technology industry
- 3+ years of experience in an enterprise storage administration role or as a storage consultant in a consulting company
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of heterogenous Block, File, Server, and SAN technologies and management products.
- Strong knowledge of IT multi-vendor infrastructure technologies such as Storage, Server technologies, Virtualization, SAN, LAN / WAN Concepts
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education needed or equivalent years of applicable experience
- Personable, Persuasive and Articulate Able to represent Hitachi Vantara positively to customers and partners, build positive relationships of influence, and ability to communicate well (written and verbally)
- Able to work independently and proactively, self-starter able to manage time / tasks effectively.
