As a Principal Engineer you are recognized expert in multiple technology domains relevant to Web Development and large scale web platforms.
You are a member of the senior technical leadership within the organization. You assist management and other senior technical leaders to create strategic roadmaps, identify technological obstacles, and serve as a driver behind engineering priorities to meet various objectives.
You report to the Head of Technology.

Requirements
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Working together with engineering leadership, coordinate engineering strategies and activities for the company
- Serve as a driver for engineering departments in tasks like research, definition and solution design
- Together with engineering leadership serve as a driver behind department goals and creating implementation plans
- Able and keen to kickstart projects from ground up, and take ownership of existing projects
- Be responsible for implementation of organization wide process improvements in engineering
- Advising engineering teams in regard to process recommendations
- Providing expert advice to other engineers
- Setting and delivering high standards of quality, reliability and professionalism
Must have :
- You have no less than 10 years of demonstrable, hands on experience in software development related to web projects
- Expert software developer with hands on experience in each - PHP, Python, JavaScript (other languages are a plus)
- Keen to contribute towards the outcomes, hands on with systems and software development
- You have lead and been the technical driver in creation of multiple large scale software projects with demonstrable contributions to each - as a technical lead, BSA / SA and similar
- You are comfortable performing within the domain of solutions architecture, able to propose, plan, estimate and propose large scale technical solutions to complex business problems
- You have solid understanding and hands on experience in Linux administration, virtualization, networking, common storage systems and other common systems used to support large scale web projects
- You are comfortable working with common server side software services (such as databases, cache systems, other components) both as user and administrator
- You have expert knowledge of Docker and related technologies
- You have excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical problems simply and concisely
- You are keenly aware of the information security and security best practices
- You are data driven and understand the importance of measurable outcomes
- You are fluent in English
- Excellent communication skills, to both technical and business colleagues
- Collaborative mindset and approach to work
Great to have :
- Hands on experience as solution architect, business solution architect
- Familiar with business intelligence concepts, web platform KPIs
- Hands on experience developing and maintaining distributed and scaled systems
- Agile & Scrum experience
