R&D EngineerSoftware Developer for CAE Visualization
Summary / Role Purpose
Ansys is looking for an R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of web frontends and backend components in the area of Mechanical simulation software.
In this role, the R&D Engineer will participate in the planning, implementation, testing and maintenance of next-generation web applications for the visualization and manipulation of Mechanical models, with a focus on browser-based 3D rendering.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Understands and employs best practices
- Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
- Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues
- Works under the general supervision of a development manager
Minimum Education / Certification Requirements and Experience
- MS in Engineering, Computer Science or Natural Science
- Academic, research or industry experience in scientific software development
- Good knowledge and experience with either JavaScript / TypeScript, Python or C++
- Passion for understanding complex problems and crafting innovative technical solutions
- An inquisitive and rigorous mindset
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in computer graphics / scientific visualization related software development, especially browser-based 3D visualization using toolkits such as WebGL, WebGPU, VTK or Three.js
- Familiar with REST, gRPC or WebSocket APIs
- Experience developing web applications with frameworks such as Angular or React
- Experience in any of the following : Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), CAD Modelling
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
