Senior Principal Engineer: Devops Site Reliability

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

• Work on Digital Platform development. Adopt automation and cloud-native technologies that fast track and refine the digital transformation process of clients and drive growth of business.
• Design and provision a Digital Fabric with micro-service orchestration for delivery and operation of robust, scalable and secure software applications.
• Construct Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and use automation for the rapid provisioning of the Digital Fabric and continuous delivery of software applications.
• Design and develop software applications and micro-services. Work with APIs, telemetry data and ML / AI algorithms; based on both structured and unstructured data.
• Participate in Agile Software Development with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD).
• Perform software engineering, implement test-driven code with comprehensive automated testing.
• Liaise with colleagues to implement technical designs and partake in peer reviews throughout the software development.
• Conduct research into new products, technology advancements and enhancements within software engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes :

• Exposure to cloud-native architecture and services in public clouds like Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with one or more interpreted programming languages such as Node.JS, Python, Go, Ruby, etc. Utilizing established development tools, guidelines and conventions.
• Foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experience with one or more SQL or document datastores, e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cosmos DB, etc.
• Experience with one or more message brokers and services such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Google Cloud Messaging, etc.
• Good understanding of micro-service based software architecture and experience with API product development.
• Experience and strong understanding of micro-service container orchestration and run time, e.g. Kubernetes, Docker.
• Ability to foster a DevOps culture with deep technical understanding of CI / CD tools with exposure to several applications and services such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
• Ability to work within an agile team utilizing Agile Software Development frameworks and best practices such as SCRUM and Kanban.
• Proactive researcher keeping up to date with latest technologies especially in cloud-native development, such as Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders, including the technical teams and clients.
• Ability to demonstrate impeccable attention to detail and work well within a team environment.
• Ability to continuously contribute to the improvement of internal effectiveness by contributing to the improvement of current methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Possess a can-do attitude and one that takes initiative.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications :

• Typically requires extensive related experience with a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
• Relevant Certification beneficial
• Relevant DevOps certifications beneficial
• Agile related certifications are preferable

Required Experience :

• Three or more years in modern Software Engineering.
• Specific Experience : Developing and orchestrating micro-services.
• Specific Experience : Working with cloud-native tools and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience working through innovation, pilot and production phases with multiple stakeholders to the highest levels of quality and performance.
• Demonstrated experience working in a multi-team environment across multiple geographies.
