Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, procurement, and sustainability, to ensure seamless execution of refurbishment projects, enabling timely delivery, adherence to budgetary constraints, and achievement of project goals.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, providing effective project management oversight and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Foster innovative thinking and explore new design concepts, methodologies, and technologies to optimize refurbishment processes and products.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to understand their needs, gather feedback, and incorporate it into the design process, ensuring customer-centric solutions.
Collaborate with the Renew Strategy team to effectively communicate the organization's refurbishment design capabilities and sustainability commitments, enhancing brand reputation and market positioning.
Responsibilities:
Ensure devices are designed for Circularity/sustainability by providing feedback to device specific design teams on design issues that impede refurbishment or cause unnecessary cost to refurbishment.
Develop/implement solutions to reduce cost of refurbishment, increase recovery and meet corporate sustainability goals by:
Identifying and evaluating new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships.
Reviewing and evaluating new devices for opportunities to innovate processing.
Leverage recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.
Lead complex projects, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans, aligning objectives with business goals.
Ability to travel up to 50%
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Typically 10+ years experience in electronics/hardware product design and manufacturing, preferably within the refurbishment, sustainability, or circular economy domain.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Evaluating and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
Strong knowledge of circular design principles, sustainable materials, and refurbishment processes, with a demonstrated ability to apply them in practical settings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and addressing design challenges effectively.
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, certifications, and standards, ensuring compliance and staying up to date with industry trends and advancements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
History of innovation with examples of implementing new processes.
