We are the Maps and Local team that delivers great local search and maps experiences to hundreds of millions of global users as part of Microsoft’s Bing search experiences. We are responsible for building modern UX on multiple platforms leveraging the latest rendering technologies for web and mobile.
We are looking for a Software Engineer who brings great passion and innovative ideas for building intuitive, engaging, and differentiated user experiences with high performance and at scale. We are an agile team working in a fast-paced environment with no dearth of challenging problems to solve. We are at the forefront of evolving Search experiences from the traditional results pages to an immersive and visually rich UX that allows users to complete the most complex of tasks in the most efficient manner. Responsibilities
Design and implement new UX features, components, and tools with robust software design and high quality, while partnering closely with Product Management and Design
Drive features from design to coding to testing, running A/B experiments and analyzing results to make data-driven decisions, and maintaining production quality. You will ship your code using an agile platform that ships code to production multiple times a day
Adhere to and push for modern Software Engineering practices and operational excellence
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar engineering/software/ services experience
Relevant years of professional software development experience in designing, developing, and shipping high quality software products
Relevant years of experience developing Web-centric features, frameworks, or services using C#, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages
Demonstrable history of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with web technologies such as TypeScript, CSS, HTML, React
Experiencing maintaining highly scalable web services
Clear communication skills and demonstrated customer empathy
Passionate and collaborative team player with a drive to work in a fast-paced environment
