Descripción del trabajo

About us

We're albelli-Photobox Group, the experts in printing high-quality personalised photo products, from photo books and wall decor, to calendars, cards and more.

We create JOY by connecting people to the moments that matter most. Inspiring people to create and share their stories with us.

We're searching for fresh thinkers and team players who are passionate about their work, collaborate to solve problems, constantly challenge themselves to learn and innovate, and thrive on delivering an exceptional customer experience.

We’re a pan-European business serving over 7 million customers, supported by our 1,150 colleagues and are growing across a number of our locations.

We promote collaboration both virtually and in person, this role can be based from any of our hubs in Barcelona, Amsterdam or London.

The impact you’ll make :

The albelli Photobox group currently has 4 apps available to customers across Europe, each with unique strengths. Following the recent albelli and Photobox merger, we’re working on a multi-year program to bring the best of each app into a single market leading app.

As a Technical Product Manager you will lead the backend transformation required to make this possible.

What you’ll be responsible for as a Technical Product Manager at albelli-Photobox Group

You are responsible for the two closely connected teams within the Transformation Domain. Our Group Orchestration team is responsible for the middleware layer that links our customer facing experiences to our backend services and our Editor API team owns a large portion of the services that power our web and app digital editor offerings.

Given the interconnected nature of the teams, you will be working very closely with most of the other teams / domains in the company and as such, exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential.

In your first few months, you will :

  • Deep dive into the vision for the Company, the Product and Tech function and the App Domain that your teams will help to enable.
  • Build out a compelling backlog that supports the App domain’s vision, while balancing the technical health of your services and the efficiency of the teams.
  • Work cross functionally with the App Product Managers, Technology and Design teams to challenge your plans, identify constraints and ensure cross functional alignment.
  • Work closely with the Transformation domain’s Engineering Manager to challenge and optimise your team's ways of working.
  • Communicate regularly across the company to help colleagues understand the customer value you are aiming to deliver, and proactively mitigate risks and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

You’ll be ideal for the role if :

  • You are able to understand complex technical problems as well as empathise strongly with customers.
  • You’re able to bring a customer view to technical discussions and communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical people.
  • You have a lot of experiences (good and bad) of working with agile practices in digital product teams. You know that one size does not fit all but have a range of ideas and processes that may help.
  • You are passionate about clarity. You are robust in your thinking and push to fully understand a situation before confidently leading progress towards a solution.
  • You are respected for your proactive communication, which prevents your teams from becoming siloed from other teams and functions across the organisation.

Must Have Experience :

  • Experience managing a technical product that powered a digital customer experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver for customer needs despite technical complexity
  • Ability to explain complicated technical principles in a clear and effective manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyse data to inform product decisions
  • Proven track record of proactive communication and leadership to effectively manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proven track record of optimising agile development methodologies to improve the effectiveness of digital project teams

Nice to Have Experience :

  • If you don’t have this experience, we’d still like to hear from you.
  • Experience of working in an e-commerce environment

Benefits

  • 23 days of annual leave with a healthy work-life balance
  • Budget for personal growth and development, including external training, courses, and conferences
  • 8 weeks out of the year to work working remotely abroad
  • An informal, fun, proactive, and inclusive culture with a social atmosphere (Friday drinks, parties, sports, etc.)
  • A fast-growing e-commerce environment
  • An international company hosting over 50 nationalities

You'll be joining a growing office (currently 30 people) in central Barcelona, situated in a WeWork by Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, a hub for technology and innovation and within walking distance of public transport, the beach and shopping centres

We will consider the matter carefully and try to accommodate your needs within reason. If we consider a particular adjustment would not be reasonable we will explain our reasons and try to find an alternative solution where possible.
