DirecciónThe Team Lead Medical Writing Services (TGS) is a key role to operationalize mature and business-critical capabilities within global services delivery setup.
The person will lead a team of medical writers focused in two main areas : medical information and publications.
Tasks and responsibilities
Leading a team of Subject Matter Service Experts (medical writers of publications and medical information) / Coordinators - as a people manager, the TGS is accountable for making sure that a team of experts is able to deliver the services in scope at global scale.
For this the TGS needs to be a Subject Matter Expert as well for the capabilities / services the team is supposed to deliver.
- Management of the end to end Service Lifecicle, focusing on the following 5 key areas :
- Co-developing services
- Piloting services
- Implementing and sacling services
- Stanilizing and optimizing services delivery
- Providing services support and issues resolution
- Transforming a maturing capability into a globally harmonized service - the TGS needs to work closely with the GCO to understand the requirements of the maturing capability and the approaches required to turn the capability into a service that can be delivered at global scale.
Part of this alignment is the split of accountability / decision authority between GCO and TGS including . platform developments including the demand management process as part of the global service delivery (service platform owner)
Delivering services at global scale - the TGS is accountable to deliver the services on a daily basis and at global scale.
In parallel, he needs to make sure that the quality and the costs of delivery are constantly measured and transparent. Suitable reporting is part of the role.
- Continuously improving quality and costs of the delivery - the TGS needs to make sure, that continuous improvement ideas are constantly created, evaluated and implemented to continuously improve the performance of the services delivery
- Help GCOs with piloting new technologies, new ways of working and disruptive changes - the TGS is the priority partner of any GCO, who needs to pilot and scale a matured capability.
Together with the GCO, the TGS will scope out the pilot, will make sure that all required resources are available and trained and that the learnings from the pilot are being captured to secure a smooth scaling of the service later on.
Guiding IT counterparts to provide platforms and systems that are meeting business and global service delivery needs - the TGS is accountable to describe and clarify all business requirements that are needed to deliver a capability as a global service.
The TGS will work closely with the respective IT counterpart to make sure that all deployed platforms and systems are meeting those requirements.
On a routine delivery basis, the TGS is managing the IT interface on behalf of the business. The accountability of the TGS is end to end and with this cross-functionally.
In cases where there is still a GCO in place, close collaboration between GCO and TGS on all IT requirements is mandatory.
Requirements
A minimum of five years of proven success in service delivery management, preferably in a Big Pharma, internal shared services setup.
Including extensive experience in management of Medical Writing of publications.
- Proven background in continuous improvement activities and business process reengineering (Lean Six Sigma training / certification is a plus)
- Solid management and organizational leadership skills
- Fluent English in written, reading, speaking, German or additional languages would be a plus
- Able to apply sound judgment while working independently within tight timelines
- Excellent oral and written communication, with great interpersonal skills; able to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team
- Proven success as a key member of a matrixed, cross-functional team; able to work equally well with people in business, creative, science and technical positions
