Recently, System & Technology underwent a reorganization, bringing together System Managers and System Architects into a unified organization.
This consolidation ensures that we possess the competence and resources vital to fulfill the system-level technical requirements of our products.
Ericsson System Manager (SM) role is equivalent to a System Engineer role in the telecom industry.
We are currently seeking a proficient individual to assume the role of General System Manager in the User Plane area. This role places special emphasis on several critical aspects :
- Networking Functions : These encompass routing, GSA (Gateway Support for LTE Services), GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation), link layer protocols, IPsec (Internet Protocol Security), and related elements.
- Signaling : Here, we delve into functionalities such as PFCP (Packet Forwarding Control Protocol) handling, L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol), geo redundancy, and Packet Core Firewall.
- Traffic Management : This area involves tasks like traffic analysis, classification, enforcement, reporting, and analytics.
- Value-Added Functions : Within this category, we address traffic optimizations, NAT (Network Address Translation), and security enhancements.
As the General System Manager, your responsibilities extend to understanding and defining system behavior within your competence area.
You’ll drive early assessments, systemize functionality, and conduct initial feature studies. Additionally, you’ll provide support during feature development execution.
To excel in this role, you should possess the ability to abstract and explain technology, translating it into clear requirements and user stories.
Your unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise will enable you to define optimal solutions for our customers.
What you will do
- Provide the technical network / black box system view for the teams within its area
- Provide and maintain system requirements.
- Perform system studies within the area of competence.
- Support the development teams with feature system view during the development of the features.
- Review and approve CPI on area and feature level.
- Support customers through our market support, both in sales and maintenance processes.
You will bring
- Degree in computer science, Telecommunication engineering or equivalent.
- Capability to understand and define complete system behavior, functional and non-functional.
- Willing to share knowledge and learn (curious).
- Good communication skills, an open mind and ability to work in team.
- Fluent in English.
- Capacity to interact with partners from other countries and roles in Ericsson.
- Knowledge or experience in TCP / IP Networking and protocols, data networks and IP-based applications, Routing and Signaling.
- Analytic approach, organized, solution-oriented, hardworking for details, perseverant.
Technical understanding and experience with 4G and 5G packet core networks
