Descripción del trabajo

We’re Adevinta, a global leader in digital marketplaces. Our household name brands, including Marktplaats in the Netherlands, mobile.de in Germany and leboncoin in France, reach hundreds of millions of people every month.

We’re all about matchmaking, and our sites help people find whatever they’re looking for in their local communities – whether it’s a car, an apartment, a sofa or a new job. Every connection made or item found makes a difference by creating a world where people share more and waste less.

Our brands are supported by global Tech Hubs in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin. Their goal is to develop common global products and innovation platforms which all of our brands can use. This means using cutting edge technology to create highly scalable, customisable and secure products and components that free up development time and leverage our access to global data.

About the team:

Marketing Analytics is part of Adevinta’s global Analytics team, a diverse and highly motivated community that thrives towards ensuring that every decision across the organization, big and small, is driven by data insights: "We make decisions data-driven, by providing high-value data, deep insights, and addictive tools."

Data is the voice of our customers and our most powerful asset, when supporting key stakeholders in making optimal decisions that fuel product-led growth and meet strategic objectives.

Our work can revolve around a variety of data topics such as performing user behavior /segmentation analyses, identifying factors that drive conversion/retention and build trust, measuring success along the funnel, conducting competitive research and many more.

The role:

Our team interfaces with business owners, strategic decision makers, analysts, product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to unpack complex product challenges that keep our users from succeeding on our platforms. We create and share useful insights, while helping build and support a data-driven culture at Adevinta.

As a member of the global Analytics team, you will be proficient with data tools and sources, flourish with solving highly analytical problems, and turn data into practical insights. This global role comes with the challenge of understanding and contributing to many facets of the business, including strategy, product, finance and data management.

Your main focus will be to contribute to Adevinta’s Marketing ambitions from an Analytics standpoint, supporting Business and Product partners in their journey toward meaningful and profitable Marketing activities.

In this context, you will be working on various topics, such as Customer Lifetime Value, Attribution, Budget optimization, and more.

This role is data and analytically intensive. Successful candidates should be quick learners, strategic thinkers, operational and execution driven facilitators, problem solvers, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. This role is heavily cross-functional and ideal for candidates who enjoy both defining and solving complex problems, while getting deeply involved in the design of our future transactional platforms and tools.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Structure complex, ambiguous business questions and apply analytical skills to synthesize useful business insights, to the benefit of leaders in the organization.

  • Design, plan, and implement methodologies to measure successes of business initiatives.

  • Develop advanced statistical models to help deeply understand, analyze, forecast and improve our Marketing activities.

  • Analyze results and trends across business units, verticals & revenue streams, to uncover opportunities and improve business performance.

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and benchmarking as needed.

  • Create and maintain insightful automated reports and dashboards applying typical data quality functions.

  • Work closely across the matrix with teams like Marketing, Strategy, Engineering, Finance, and more.

  • Collaborate with other analysts/data scientists and help guide strategy based on learning from other analyses/projects across the organization.

  • Scale analytics best practices and knowledge sharing across the organization.

  • Continually improve your knowledge of analytics tools, our data warehouse, the business, and best practices.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field).

  • 3 year track record (or equivalent) in using data to facilitate business decisions: work experience in Digital Marketing, Digital Advertising, Product Analytics, Business Intelligence, Sales/Finance Analytics…

  • Professional experience in a global organization, preferably in digital native business.

  • Efficient when working with a multitude of disparate data sources and tools; working out of a data warehouse or from smaller imperfect datasets.

  • Proficiency in at least one querying language such as SQL.

  • Familiar with data visualization tools (ideally Tableau), advanced spreadsheet and presentation software skills.

  • Experience building intuitive and impactful dashboards and data visualizations.

  • Ideally, experience with one analytics/data science tools: R, Python.

  • Very good communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills in English.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and defining business requirements related to large scale data warehousing projects.

  • Stakeholder management skills - ability to build consensus by clearly communicating and presenting information.

  • People-oriented; eager to build positive and productive relationships with a variety of international partners and draw upon their skills when needed.

  • Ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining a high degree of organization and control.

What we offer:

  • Meaningful Work: We are a diverse, international, highly skilled and passionate team committed to a world where people share more and waste less. Every day you will have the opportunity to make a huge difference for our users, customers as well as shape the future.

  • Flexibility: We believe that work is what you do, not where you do it. So we provide mobile work and flexible hours that gives you the autonomy, and scope to set your own working patterns and agendas. We empower our teams and people to decide which key moments they want to spend face to face, instead of fixing a number of office days.

  • Work-Life Balance: Our people really do come first and we have lots of options for greater work-life balance, including four weeks work from anywhere per year, part-time work, plus an additional three months fully-paid parental leave time.

  • Growth and Development: We are a global organisation who truly believes in growing our people. To support this we offer lots of development and training opportunities as well as providing a budget for our team members.

  • Competitive Compensation: We know that our people are the key to our success and our compensation packages reflect this.

  • Connection and Inclusion: Our culture is the glue that holds us together. We believe in making meaningful connections and creating an inclusive atmosphere with lots of opportunities to connect both in your day to day work and through social team activities (online and offline).

Benefits

Benefits are an essential part of your total compensation for the work you do every day. Whether you’re single, in a growing family, or nearing retirement, Adevinta* offers a variety of comprehensive and competitive benefit programs to meet your needs.
